The established options for connecting the breathing system are:

Separate Mouthpieces

Two corrugated low pressure hoses connect the back pack to a mouthpiece. A separate demand regulator connected to a medium pressure hose provides an open circuit backup in the event of a fault in the backpack. Changing over involves swapping the mouthpieces underwater.

Combined Mouthpiece

The two breathing supplies are integrated into a Bail Out Valve (BOV) which allows the diver to select between the two supplies.

Mask or Helmet Interface

If either a Mask or Helmet is to be used an internal oral nasal mask seals against the diver’s face to enable communication under water. The BOV is incorporated into the mask or helmet.
